Adrianna Freeman was born in Tallahassee, FL.: the oldest daughter of Ed Freeman, a former sharecropper and musician, and his wife Theresa. Adrianna found a love for music at an early age. A farming family, Saturday mornings would take the Freemans to the local farmer’s market. It was there between the fruits and vegetables that Adrianna would have her first real audience, playing for customers at her family’s produce stand. In a bright yellow can-can dress with ribbons in her hair she belted out songs like “The Yellow Rose of Texas”, “500 Miles”, “There He Goes”, and “Crazy”.
Freeman’s father knew she had a god given gift, and he intended to help his daughter make it! When Adrianna was 15, her father took her to perform for the first time in a local country music honky-tonk, Adrianna recalls the experience saying “I was shaking like a leaf” when the band leader called my name to come up and sing. It was there she would learn to hone her skills as a performer, singing on the weekends with the house band belting out songs like “Blame It On Your Heart” and “Strawberry Wine”.
Like many singers just starting out, Freeman performed in many small clubs and struggled to get noticed. It was in a small, country, dive bar, located in Wakulla, FL., Adrianna would get her first break. One of the bar’s regulars had information about a regional contest. He just happened to be a local radio disc jockey and thought Adrianna would be great for the show “Nashville Star”. In 2001 Freeman got invited to compete for a spot in the national competition that would air on the USA Network. Adrianna and her family traveled to Jacksonville, FL for the regional competitions, she made it to the top 30 and was selected as an alternate, but ultimately did not win a spot to compete on the televised show.
In pursuit of her vision, Adrianna caught the attention of Teddy Gentry of the super-group “ALABAMA”. In 2007, Teddy generously offered his talents as producer to Adrianna’s project. The combination was magical! Teddy also invited Adrianna to record a song titled “Run Baby Run” for “Teddy Gentry’s Best New Nashville” released through Cracker Barrel Old County Stores in 2010. In correlation with the albums release Cracker Barrel also held a contest for the public to vote on their favorite artist. Freeman was voted as the “Best New Nashville” winner in 2010.
Freeman went on to release her first full length album titled “Either You Do or You Don’t” internationally, which received rave reviews. Freeman had 3 of the album’s songs chart in the top 10 of the EACM and music charts across the world. Now Adrianna Freeman is back, with new music and big dreams to make a run at country music stardom again! What lies ahead are dreams revealed, behind, a road paved for the future.
